JAMES VILE
CHURCH LEADER
Meet James Vile, our church leader who has been a part of our church community for over a decade. As well as preaching and being part of the leadership team, he oversees the house group curriculum and discipleship programme; he also coordinates Sunday evening teachings, and is involved in men's breakfasts.
James, along with his wife Julie and two young boys, reside in Pontrhydyfen. When not busy with church duties, he enjoys cycling and watching football.
JOHN BUCKLEY
CHURCH LEADER
John has been a member of BCC for ten years. He is married to Suzanne and they have one son Benjamin who is married to Hannah. John was a geography teacher for thirty- four years but thankfully is now retired and living in Porthcawl. He has been a church leader for several years and runs the Thursday morning housegroup. He helps with organising the monthly Men's Breakfast Ministry and is a member of the Pastoral Care team. John 's interests include reading, walking, volunteering with the National Coastwatch Institution and regretfully, supporting Swansea City.
ANDREW WOOD
CHURCH LEADER
Andrew & Helen were one of the three founding couples of BCC & Andrew has been a leader since its inception in 2002. Andrew is an Authorised Person for wedding ceremonies, runs the Tuesday evening house group & helps organise the Men’s Breakfast Ministry. Helen organises weddings at BCC. Andrew & Helen are both retired and their interests include motorcycling, walking & raising their young grandson Asher. Their daughter is Kate and their son Sam and his partner Sophie have two adorable children, Isla and Isaiah.
NIGEL IRWIN
CHURCH LEADER
My wife Barbara and I have been committed to BCC for over seven years. I am a member of the Thursday morning housegroup and Barbara and I are members of the Tuesday evening housegroup. Both groups I have led from time to time. I am part of the church finance team, welcome team and we are on the refreshments rota, as well as serving in the coffee shop every other Friday. I had the blessing of being brought up in a Christian home and family, and have been involved in Church leadership for many years, mainly in the Baptist denomination. Not only on a local level but also throughout South Wales, when serving as board member for the South Wales Baptist Association. I worked for the Evangelical Movement of Wales as Finance and administration Manager for almost ten years, following 30 years in retail banking, having managed a number of branches. My interests include reading, sport (as a spectator these days) and like John supporting Swansea City! Barbara and I have been married for over 50 years, we have three children and seven grandchildren.
HANNAH ROACH
YOUTH PASTOR
Hannah Roach, our Youth Pastor, was born in Worcester, England, and has always enjoyed being on stage. After facing some difficulties, she found hope and comfort in Jesus' love and moved to Manchester to study youth work with The Message Trust. Her passion for community work led her to Swansea, where she pursued Applied Drama (using drama techniques within a community development context) at UWTSD. Hannah is happily married to Ethan, and they have two daughters, Luana and Bonnie. She's a fan of Eastenders and anything sweet.
JON LEWIS
PASTORAL WORKER
Jon is a theology and youth work graduate and has been a youth worker and mission enabler in various churches for the past 9 years. His current responsibilities at BCC include pastoral care, leading a house group, supporting various youth ministries, and assisting with the church's weekly outreach and toddler group. Jon is also a worship leader in the church's worship team. When not at church, he indulges in his hobbies of football, sci-fi, and comic books.
